Introduction

I experienced a week-long Bangkok workcation in September 2025 and stayed in a total of 4 hotels.
Each one has its own characteristics, so it’s difficult to summarize in one word, “Which one was the best?”

So this time,Work environment/vacation environment/location/cost performanceRanked based on four perspectives.
After reading this article, you are sure to find a hotel that suits you.

About the comparison criteria for this article

When comparing hotels in Bangkok from a remote work while travelling perspective, we have set the following criteria.

  • work environment: Desk environment in guest rooms and lounges, Wi-Fi stability, quietness
  • vacation environment: Pool and surrounding facilities, extraordinary feeling, degree of refreshment
  • Location access: Good access to public transportation such as BTS and boats, and shopping malls (excluding proximity to the city center)
  • cost performance:Overall satisfaction level with accommodation rate (taking into account service, location, and facilities)

We evaluated these criteria comprehensively and created a ranking for each item.

Work environment ranking

🥇 1st place: Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse

You can work from a different location by using the guest room or executive lounge.
In particular, I felt that the Executive Lounge was a quiet environment that made it easy to concentrate.
In the lounge,You can feel refreshed just by looking at the view unique to the upper floors, and there are also plenty of snacks and drinks available. So there is no doubt that the work will progress.
This is a relatively new hotel with comfortable facilities.

🥈 2nd place: Millennium Hilton Bangkok

Millennium Hilton Bangkok executive room window
The space by the window served as a standing desk with a great view.

The desk in the guest room is a little small, but there is no problem in working.
The lounge is bright and openThere are also a few Western guests who work there.
Hilton brand is safe for business travelers.
The room’s window seat served as a standing desk, and personally, I found it to be a work environment with the best view.

🥉 3rd place: The Peninsula Bangkok

remote work while travelling scene at Peninsula Bangkok guest room desk
You can see the Chao Phraya River from the guest room desk at Peninsula Bangkok.

from the desk in the guest roomOverlooking the Chao Phraya RiverThe attractive feature is the quiet environment where you can concentrate.
The small safety deposit box is a drawback, and there is no lounge like the Marriott Suriwongse, but this hotel offers a high level of balance between work and vacation.

4th place: Siamotif Boutique Hotel

Desk and computer at Siamotif Boutique Hotel
The desk is L-shaped, has a power supply, and is compact.

While being soothed by daybeds and cats by the riverI can work.
The L-shaped desk is compact and easy to use, but the lighting is a little dim.
If you’re going to work away, it might be better to stay 70% for relaxation rather than 70% for work.

We also compared the working environments in airport lounges. I have summarized it in the article below, so please take a look.

Stay at Peninsula Time, where you can enjoy a pool with an adult atmosphere, a spectacular view of the riverside, and flexible check-in/check-out times.
You will never forget having breakfast or dinner overlooking the Chao Phraya River.
With the elegance that only Peninsula can provide,Hotel stay itself is a “vacation experience”Become.

🥈 2nd place: Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse

Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse infinity pool
Skyscrapers seen from the infinity pool of Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse

The views from the infinity pool on the upper floors and the rooftop bar are spectacular.
The interior of the lounge is sophisticated and has an adult atmosphere.
You can enjoy an urban city resort that is different from Peninsula.

🥉 3rd place: Siamotif Boutique Hotel

Siamotif Boutique Hotel's cat is sleeping
Cats are resting during the day

Views of the Chao Phraya River tributaries, relaxing time not found in urban areas, petting cats, and homemade breakfast.
Perfect for those who enjoy slow living and enjoying “doing nothing”.

4th place: Millennium Hilton Bangkok

View from the pool at Millennium Hilton Bangkok
Great views even on the lower floors

The pool is on a lower floor compared to the Marriott Suriwongse, but it has a feeling of openness.
With its good balance of price and facilities, and its location next to Icon Siam, you can easily enjoy the riverside area.

Location ranking

🥇1st place: Millennium Hilton Bangkok

Icon Siam, less than 5 minutes walk from Millennium Hilton Bangkok
Icon Siam, where you can eat, shop, and sightsee in just 5 minutes from the hotel.

Adjacent to Icon Siam, shopping, dining, cafes, and night views are within a 5-minute walk.
It is easy to get to Sathorn Pier and BTS, and access to temples and central Bangkok is surprisingly easy.
A hotel where you can experience the touristic elements of riverside and the convenience of a large commercial facility.

🥈 2nd place: The Peninsula Bangkok

Exterior of Icon Siam, a commercial facility along the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok

Surprisingly, the free boat to Sathorn Pier (BTS Saphan Taksin Station) is a chartered boat that comes when you call.
Icon Siam is also within 10 minutes walk and can be accessed by free boat.
The combination of elegance and convenience is attractive.

🥉 3rd place: Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse

Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse hotel exterior

Silom/Suriwong urban area.
Although it is a little far from BTS Saladaeng Station, the free shuttle bus runs regularly, making up for the inconvenience.
However, the hotel’s pool and lounge are so wonderful that it makes guests think, “Maybe I don’t need to go out.”

4th place: Siamotif Boutique Hotel

Surroundings of Siamotif Boutique Hotel
There is a hotel further down this path, and as you stroll through it, you get the illusion that you are living there.

A riverside area in the Noi district of Bangkok with a strong local flavor.
There is an MRT station a little far away, so you can go to the center,“Away from the hustle and bustle”Premised location. Suitable for leisurely people.

Cost performance ranking

🥇 1st place: Millennium Hilton Bangkok

View from the lounge at Millennium Hilton Bangkok
Being close to the Chao Phraya River and feeling its power is a unique charm of being on a lower floor.

This price range is ◎ for the location next to Icon Siam.
The sense of security of the brand, the cleanliness that was renovated in 2020, and the lounge that you can enter by just adding about 3,000 yen (*) to the regular price. *Amount subject to change
Although it is a high-end brand, it is a great hotel with plenty of great value.

🥈 2nd place: Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse

Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse infinity pool
The pool has umbrellas, beds, and a pool bar.

Considering the elements of a luxury hotel, such as the urban location, functional facilities unique to a new hotel, and an infinity pool, the price is reasonable.
If you choose an accommodation plan that does not include lounge access, you can significantly reduce costs.

🥉 3rd place: Siamotif Boutique Hotel

Breakfast at Siamotif Boutique Hotel
Eating a meal in a relaxed setting is an experience that cannot be replaced by anything else.

There are 6 rooms in total, and the price will vary depending on which room you choose.River view, cat, and old folk house experience for 10,000 yen per nightcomes with it.
(I think it’s wrong to discuss this hotel in terms of cost performance, though…)

4th place: The Peninsula Bangkok

Peninsula Bangkok hotel exterior at night
Peninsula Bangkok hotel exterior at night

Considering the overwhelming service and location of the Peninsula, it’s a reasonable price, but since it’s a luxury hotel, in terms of cost performance, this time it’s at the bottom.
However, in a sense, the cost performance is good if you consider that you can experience the service and facilities! I seriously think so.

Summary: Recommended hotels by purpose

I stayed at four hotels during my workday in Bangkok and compared them. The most suitable hotel will depend on the purpose of your stay.I felt that.

FAQs for working in Bangkok

Is it possible to work at a hotel that doesn’t have a lounge or coworking space?

can! You don’t necessarily need a lounge or coworking. If you choose a well-organized hotel, you will often have a desk in your room with a sufficient working environment, and the advantage is that you can concentrate in a quiet environment.

What are the benefits of staying in a riverside area when working?

The scenery along the Chao Phraya River and the open feel of the hotels are attractive. You can travel by boat, and many hotels are located near the large commercial facility Icon Siam, making it very convenient for sightseeing and dining.

Is it possible to work with family?

It depends on your family composition such as number of people and age, what you want to do in terms of vacation, and the hotel you choose. With a hotel that has a pool and plenty of nearby tourist attractions, you can focus on work while your family enjoys their vacation. Hotels with pools and a resort feel are especially recommended for families. If you are a recluse, small children may get bored.

Are hotels in Bangkok expensive? How about cost performance?

If you want to have a fulfilling work and vacation environment, I think you need to spend a certain amount of money. There are plenty of cheap hotels in Bangkok, but in my past experience, the rooms in cheap hotels were a bit damp and dark. The riverside hotels introduced in this article are more like luxury hotels, but I personally think they are good value for money because you can enjoy luxurious services and locations that you cannot find in Japan within the same price range!
